28 x 28: February Seven
I hate to do this, but tonight I am short on time. I promise that I will do a much more substantial post tomorrow night. Something either really deep and thought-provoking, or something emotionally and artistically stirring, Or just something mildly amusing.
This is actually a picture that's over a year old, but it's literally the only worthwhile picture on my computer that's never been posted here before.

Picture: Saturday Morning Sunrise

It's funny how some of the most stunning imagery in a day is only available for about three quarters of an hour at night and in the morning. While I was out taking this (a rare occurence for me to be up so early), it dawned on me that the idea of a burning ball of gas hundreds and thousands of miles away that provides life and light for our entire planet is actually both very profound and absurd.
Good morning, everyone.

Picture: Sunny Even When It's Raining

Ok, this is one of the most surreal things I've ever seen. Click this image to enlarge it so you can see the rain drops. It was pouring rain to the point of flash flood warnings, and then the sun came out and lit up the city. Sadly, this picture doesn't capture what it was like to actually be there but I think it does a damn good job.
This image is pretty cool in its juxtaposition and I think that makes it special.
